Hagrid, the Giant

Leaf wanted to do a Harry Potter doodle, so I took a shot at Hagrid. As lame as the forest is, with the PS brush tool, I feel like I could Bob-Ross the entire planet. This got me thinking more about how to do abstract backdrops. I suppose the master is Maurice Noble, who did a lot of Bugs Bunny backgrounds. The guy could add personality to a rock. Here is Leaf's. He says, "Voldermort is trying to fight Harry, Hagrid, Sirius Black, Hermione, and Ron. Voldermort is not winning. He takes out a book and looks at it. It says how to fight five people. Voldermort gets happy because his other friends get him candy. The end."

Idle Pirates

This was made from about a dozen pirate sketches that Leaf and I made while tooling around in Mexico. It is a little messy, because I was rushed and I broke off the nubs on my small pens. Need new tools again. The topic is an existential crisis of Captain Hook. I think. Here is Leaf's. He says, "The pirate says, tick tock, had a clock. Jeez dad, it is taking like ten hours to do this. Not very quick. I'm going to eat a packet of oatmeal."

Upgrade Crusader

Leaf came up with the topic this time and he drew first. He picked a dragon, which doesn't exactly go with the theme, but I couldn't say no (the theme is way more important to me). Besides, a dragon is an awful pleasure for an illustrator. A creature with wings, claws, teeth, horns, scales, smoke, fire. Below are Leaf's and Monet's dragons. Monet did hers at Macy's and Leaf applied to color. Leaf says, "My dragon escaped the cage but got very mad because the knight was coming towards to castle to fight him. The knight was almost opening the door. The princess was frightened. The dragon's name was dragon breath."

Virtual Scarecrow

I know nothing about Farmville, but it does seem weird to me. Also Leaf did a version. He says, "I am growing a farm and the scarecrow is scaring away the birds. And the person who grows the farm made the scarecrow. Scares away the birds real good. Spawny is the farmer."

Avatar Star

The characters sort of took over this one. . . which I don't mind. They were fun to draw, which was one of my goals. Monet said it was weird. Um, yep, can't argue with that.

Leaf's is below. He says, "She is happy and proud because she is bouncing on a mountain." I helped him redo the eyes in photoshop because he was not happy with them.
